Assignment
In keeping with our focus on educational research, this week I want you to use the library electronic resources, or google scholar (or other electronic database) to find and review a research-based article on a distance learning, hybrid learning, educational technology, or other relevant topic to this class and in particular your project for the class. Some journals to get you started might be American Journal of Distance Education, British Journal of Educational Technology, American Educational Research Journal, Educational Researcher, or the Journal of Educational Computing Research. There are many, many others that might be relevant, but these are a few to get you started.
Please find an article and give it a read through. Remember the conversation we had on Friday about how we all read articles we find, the important pieces I want you to look for are:
- What is this study about?
- Is it well grounded in prior research?
- What methods did they use?
- What did they find out?
- What are some of the limitations of the study?
- Generally, what is your take on this article? Is it one that will be helpful for your teaching?
DELIVERABLE: Use these prompts to write up a short analysis of the article. Be sure to include the citation so I can find the article myself, and send a link to your completed document to Scott by Friday September 27 at 9:00am
